We are thrilled to announce The Frick, Pittsburgh’s recent acquisition of Transforming Five Tulips in a Wan-Li Vase.

Our first digital piece, this acquisition enhances our growing collection of artwork created by 21st-century artists—including Vik Muniz, Hendrik Kerstens and Cindy Sherman — all of whom refer to art historical sources and respond to them in boldly contemporary ways. The introduction of time-based media into our collection will be both disruptive and illuminative. We are excited that the presentation of the Carters’ work in our galleries will capture the extended attention of our audience and encourage more in-depth experiences and richer interpretation of our permanent collection.”
